Al Haramain Watch: Saudi Arabia’s Racism Confiscates the Right of Hajj from Residents in Qatar and the Gulf

The International Commission to Watch Saudi Administration of Muslim places “Al Haramain Watch” described the decision of the Saudi authorities to ban the issuance of Hajj permits to foreign residents in the State of Qatar as a racist decision. The Commission added that the Saudi administration is working to distort the message of pilgrimage, which is based on justice and equality among all Muslims in the world and not only to deprive Islamic countries of pilgrimage like Qatar, but went even further by depriving foreign residents of Muslims in the State of Qatar of pilgrimage and estimated the number of foreign residents about 2 million foreigners.

Al Haramain Watch has received more than one complaint from foreign Muslim residents in the State of Qatar that they are banned from Hajj and that they do not have a clear mechanism for obtaining the Hajj permit or the road to be followed. A Syrian Man who lives in Qatar said,”I am a Syrian citizen living and working in the State of Qatar. I have decided to go to Hajj this year. I have written to all parties concerned to inform me of the registration mechanism and obtain a permit for Hajj for me and my wife, but I have not yet received a clear registration mechanism for this pilgrimage, General and repeatedly contacted the Saudi Hajj Organization but to no answer “

Al Haramain Watch called on international human rights institutions and the United Nations organizations to immediately intervene with the Saudi side to stop it from continuing to practice racism against foreign residents in the Gulf and depriving them of their right to freely worship, guaranteed by all international norms and laws.

Al Haramain Watch added that Saudi Arabia has committed numerous violations of Muslim rights in the practice of worship and has failed to administer the pilgrimage in previous years. The Commission promised that it will follow up this file and move to the international community to expose Saudi practices that do not take into account religion, morality or any humanitarian principles.
Al Haramain Watch aims to ensure that Saudi Arabia manages the two holy mosques and Islamic sites in a proper manner that preserves the past and the present image of Islam. The commission will apply this aim by advising Riyadh through an Islamic advisory board, engaging Muslim countries in managing the holy rituals, and stopping the obliteration of Islamic identity in Mecca and Medina, which is carried out by Saudi Arabia through the unlimited urban expansion that destroyed many of these sites and eliminated the Islamic presence in them. The commission will also prevent the Saudi Arabia singling out the decision over the holy rituals, which may affect the safety of pilgrims and Umrah. It also aims to prevent the unconvincing closure of rituals such as visiting dignitaries or celebrities or guests of Saudi Arabia. In addition, it will monitor any violation of Saudi Arabia to any pilgrim during his visit to the holy sites. Finally, it will ensure a fair distribution of Hajj and Umrah quotas on Muslim countries without any favouritism or mediation.
The International Commission to Watch Saudi Administration of Muslim places “Al Haramain Watch” is a global organization that monitors the ways and means of Saudi Arabia’s administration of the holy sites in Mecca and Medina, especially the Haramain, including the Islamic historical sites in the Kingdom. The Commission’s work is based on an Islamic reference, and is keen on the interests of Muslims from the ocean to the Gulf and all areas of Islamic presence.
